It's a dream AND a state of mind

I remembered this dream from last week:
I dreamt that Jessica's series of vampire books was published and being turned into a TV series. After the pilot, she wanted more control over the writing and I don't think it turned out very well. No idea how or why I was involved in any of this, I guess I was just observing. No word on whether it was ostensibly about the reunification of Germany.

Also I remember playing this game in a dream. It's like a video game that utilizes a vacuuming type motion, located below Spaceship Earth in Disney's EPCOT.

This dream would be better set to music

The only part of the dream I remember was argueing with my Dad about the, wow this is hard to explain, we were looking at all the different types of recordings of Les Miz, and I was trying to clear up their chronology? We have the DVD of a 10th anniversary special, which combined the best of the original Broadway and London cast aka the "Dream Cast". When I was growing up we listened to a cassette recording of the main songs of this performance. The CD we now have is a more recent recording (albeit still 10 years old I think) that is made up of contemporary cast members from all over the world. I dunno what you call that kind of clarification. But my Dad wasn't interested and he was making me mad by not listening to me.

A Dream in Cameo

In this dream, I'm visiting my childhood friend Samantha and her family in Texas. It's an awkward visit, as it's been a long time since I saw her and we don't have much in common these days, plus it was sort of a visit on convenience I was spending the night in between travels. She goes on to her computer and talks to Robert. He asks to come over, but she doesn't respond. Then we go to bed, but hear knocking at the front door. We don't answer but the knocking gets louder and angrier until Samantha's dad got up, none too happy himself, opened the door but Robert was gone. Then he called the police. We spent the rest of the night filling out statements for them. I was having lots of difficulty with mine because they gave me crayons and paper towels to write on at first. Then when I finally got some actual paper and pen, I didn't want to write it because it would take too long and I needed to leave but they wouldn't let me type it. It had to be hand written. Then I didn't know if I should include the entire history with Robert or just the events of the evening, the former would obviously use a lot of time and paper. Eventually Sam and her family all left. I went back into her bedroom to get a little sleep before heading on to where ever it was I was going. But before I could, Ravel came in. He said he wanted to say goodbye to me before I left, which was sort of sweet. So we did (during which I was leaning down from the top bunk) and he put on this leather jacket that had fringe from the cuff, up the arm to the armpit then across the chest and back down the other arm. (I'm pretty sure I saw this jacket on a sitcom from the 80s or 90s recently.) Then there was another Ravel, and he was kind of cocky and yelled at the first Ravel that they needed to leave. This Ravel was wearing a sort of cowboy type outfit, but it was made out of crocodile skin and very shiny so quasi-modern, like if Project Runway had such a challenge. Then the fringey jacket almost made sense. Together they were like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. And that was pretty much it.

Then I was taking a nap between classes and in my dream, I was looking at my roommate's clock, my clock, my ipod, my phone and my computer from the bed that I was actually sleeping in (which is possible with some maneuvering) trying to figure out if it was time for me to get up and go to class but all the clocks had a different time and I couldn't figure out which was the closest. It was kind of frustrating so I just decided to make sure and luckily all the clocks in reality were more precise, although not necessarily accurate. In the scientific sense.

Sweet Dreams, Dead Man

The first dream I had last night was one of the worst kind: I found out my Dad was cheating on my Mom. Then they were fighting a lot, at this point my Mom standing on the top of the steps in my house and my Dad on the second landing and finally I yelled (from the bottom of the steps) "Why don't you guys just get a divorce?" They both looked at me like I was crazy & the thought had never even occured to them, as if is was much better to stay in a loveless marriage and make everyone suffer instead of get divorced.

The second dream took place in a hospital. I was there because my friend was getting knee surgery although I was limping as well having apparently strained my knee which was very confusing for everyone around us. We limped into this room with lots of medicinal massage recliners. We sat down and nobody really paid attention to us. There was a sick woman, and her husband and some doctors. The husband and a doctor were standing at a white board and one of them says "let's discuss our options". So they wrote some things on the white board, including something called "Unknown Other", which the husband explained as sort of a scholarship from the hospital given to cancer patients to cover a secondary illness. Then he had things like "debt", "sell house" etc... The "Unknown Other" he said there were 61 people eligible for this, then the chief of staff said there were only 12 people eligible so he would be sure to get it. And we were happy that worked out for them.

Dreams are like a box of chocolates, you never know which Gary you're gonna get.

Last night, I dreamt that I was with my family at a highly interactive and totally awesome dinosaur museum. I think I dreamt about this place in an earlier dream. It certainly reminded me of the queue and ride of Dinosaur! Then we saw Gary Sinise with his family in the pavillion ahead of us. We sort of followed behind him, and he was definitely distracting us from the dinosaurs. He was taking pictures of the person I believed to be his son at each section. Then I went ahead of his group and jumped on this ride/photo opportunity where you sit in a velociraptor's claw and he lifts up and down like he's about to eat you. Next, we went to this big theatre. They wanted volunteers to put on a show to raise money for what I can only assume was a good cause. Gary generously volunteered and went backstage to prepare. We are sitting behind his family and I pointed out that they didn't really look like him so I thought maybe they were more distant relatives than I had first surmised. A little girl in the group keeps telling me "That's my cousin Gary." and cousin Gary this and cousin Gary that. At first, he came out and did sort of a comedic murder mystery type show, like a laugh-at-himself version of CSI and it didn't really work but probably because the audience was so huge. There were other acts I imagine but nothing of consequence. Then Gary introduced a surprise musical guest: David Cassidy. My mom kept saying how much she likes him and Gary's friends were all "I'm sure Gary would be happy to introduce you" apparently not realizing we'd much rather meet Gary Sinise. He comes back to join his group after the show is over and my mom just begins to shake his hand as I wake up. Needless to say I was pretty unhappy to wake up because I didn't get to meet him or take a picture with him or tell him that I watched Apollo 13 earlier that day.

(Then, Now & One Where He Doesn't Look As Pissed Off, Even Though I Love It When He Gets Pissed Off.)
Allow me to express my feelings for Det. Lt. Gary Mac Dan Taylor Mattingly in song:
I heart you Gary
Oh yes I do
I don't heart anyone
As much as you
When you get angry
I say "woo hoo!"
Oh Gary I heart you

After I came home from church, I took a nap and had another dream. This time I was in a pool I think teaching little kids to swim. Each lane went the same way and then they had to swim over and around. As they went through the lanes, which did indeed have brightly colored lane lines, they had to swim under this overhead thing, it was like those things they put on babys' car seats with toys that dangle. I can't describe it any better than that. Then one of the little kids asked to see the rabbits in the next room which was part petting zoo, part kid gym. I climbed over there with her calling out to another adult that I was with the rabbits (if this were real I'd be soaking wet and in a bathing suit) and she called back "Well at least they've had their rabies shots." Thinking this was an odd answer I picked one up (they were hand-sized, tiny or maybe baby rabbits) and told her that they bite but apparently I held the rabbit too close to my face as I did this and got bitten. So I held it out away from me, with the pointy fangs of death pointed towards me and not the child and let her pet the non-lethal end. Then I tried to put all the rabbits away and got bitten again on the arm. I had a slight raised bump on my cheek, just below my left eye and when I woke up, felt to make sure I did not have a rabbit bite.

Friendly Dreams

I've been remiss in not updating my dreams more regularly, so the majority of the storyline has since been abandoned by my synapses but here's a review any way:

1. A few days ago, I had a dream where Anthony and I were doing running around trying to get something accomplished, although where or why I can no longer recall. I'm pretty sure we had fun, though.

2. Two days ago, in this dream I was reuniting with old friends from my single-digit days but again I have forgotten the general narrative.

3. Last night, Steph and I were trying to get to some sort of event or party type thing. When we got there (I believe it was a roller rink.) we had to pay to get in and Steph reminded me that she had already given me her money (a twenty) and I was supposed to pay for the both of us. Then I reminded me that I had spent the money she had given me to buy something on the way, snacks I think. So then I had to figure out how to pay for us. (Although I think for the two of us it was going to be like $75 so she probably owed me more anyway.) I didn't know if they would take my debit card, so I was searching through my bag to see if I still had my checkbook.

Dream House

I dreamt that I moved into this amazing house with two other girls that I knew from Texas. Most of the dream was me walking around thinking "This is so big! So clean! So new! So mine!" (and apparently I could afford it so that made me pretty happy too) so I won't really bore you with the descriptions. There was this basement suite that I wanted, but Ashley kind of wanted it too and wasn't afraid to show it. Then Chelsea was like you can't keep your exercise equipment down there, the kids are down there. The two of us were confused, so she took us down to show us. While there was still a lovely bedroom and bathroom room there was also a gigantic "Gymboree" type place down there and Ashley had put her stairmaster there. Regardless, I was still upset when I woke up in my 8x8 sardine tin.

Jeweleigha Dream

I dreamt that I was at home and I went to sleep in my room which was a treehouse and had my mom tucked me in and we talked or something. I forget about what. The next day I had to get up and go to church but I decided to go to church early without getting dressed or putting on a bra or combing my hair to do something and when I got there, Julia was there in a chef's jacket (except her's had red, not blue) and I was so excited to see her I hugged her so hard I knocked us down which was kind of awkward (see the part about "didn't put a bra on") but I don't think she noticed. Then I told her there was a little boy with a beret in Jim's office so we went to look/laugh at that. Then I had to go home and get dressed before church started. Somehow we ended up at the back of the church, which for those of you who are not familiar with it, it is shaped like a donut with the worship center in the center and classrooms all around it. But then some old ladies started coming in one direction so we had to run the other direction and it was sort of fun and adventure-y but for some reason I was also a little bit actually scared. I don't know if I was afraid of being seen all unkempt or that they would make me go to early service unkempt or what, but there it is.
