Hardly A Dream Vacation

I was on a vacation and staying in a generic hotel. Sometimes Casey was with me, sometimes I was on my own. My door would never shut completely. I would wake up and realize I was crazy for ever going to sleep alone in a hotel room with a door that wasn't closed. Then I tried to get dressed. I was wearing skinny jeans which I found strange, because I know I wouldn't look good in them. I found a bunch of new t-shirts, with tags and stickers still on, and was trying to decide between them. My room began to fill up with people which I naturally found incredibly stressful. I wanted to take a shower but there were people in my bathroom and I couldn't change either. Another part of the dream involved my brothers and I driving Jeep/ATV type vehicles through a Crash Bandicoot style course in which we took jumps off of ramps and tried to break boxes. It was a rainforesty-jungle type place.

Still Dreaming

In one dream, I was with the Rices and Katie. Amy told me in secret that she was pregnant. I just so surprised Amy would have sex more than anything. I agreed to keep it a secret. But suddenly she began to show. Her mom came in, and to deflect, she told her mom that Kelli and I were both pregnant. And then suddenly we were. It was awkward.

My second dream, well dang now I forget it.

This Is Not A Dream (It's surreal)

I've had recurring dreams about a theme park, that I'm either visiting or working at. If I'm just visiting, I'm visiting a lot. If I'm working, then I'm a really bad employee. It's a theme park that is only half-Aing the whole theme thing so not Disney. Maybe like a Six Flags park mixed with mini-golf. Very cheesy. I've met several people. Like Cole: a guy about my age, moderately attractive, possibly flirting with me which I quickly rebuffed. Also a weird guy who works as a clown or something. His off-putting intensity and bizarre discomfiting comments remind me of the red head guy from Top Chef. He was part of a group hired to add more activities to the park experience. Guests (and me, still not sure if I fall under that category) would accidentally run into these "plain-clothes" employees and then be challenged to different things, like solving puzzles, winning carnival type games, etc... In one dream, I was trying to get somewhere and was constantly being involved in these stupid things. For some reason, I couldn't refuse. One in particular involved chasing the person around the park trying to catch them. It was this last challenge that the creepy red headed guy made me do and I detested chasing after him through the crowds, over various water features, etc... I feel like he may have taken something that belonged to me that I wanted back, which is why I chased him. Then I snuck into a decorative house that is apparently an employee hideaway and tried to sleep on a cot on the floor when a large turtle with a face just like Yoda's came in and started talking to me. I demanded to know who he was and he told me he was Cole. I think he was turned into a turtle and I was supposed to help him turn back. That, or he was a guy in a turtle suit or working a turtle puppet. Anyway, I was not in the mood to be bothered by Cole as a turtle.

Also I've decided to go back and add labels. Apparently any potential new readers are put off by the fact that there are so many dreams. Now you can search for specific subjects and read dreams that have to do with a particular topic such as pregnancy. Or ducks. Or your name. You get the idea. Enjoy.

These dreams are like grapes: they come in a bunch.

So many dreams, so little time.

Last night:
I dreamt that I was starting a new semester of college, but it was at Cal High with most of the same Cal High people. I had injured myself, so instead of limping around, (and answering a bunch of questions about why I am limping) I decided to use a wheelchair. I went to a couple classes but then I had to go to the foreign language building. It was much farther away from the main building than it is in real life and I didn't want to push myself all the way there so I limped instead. When I got there, I found much to my excitement that Anushka, Amy Lynn and Danielle were in my French class, taught by who else but Madame Goldin? I looked at my schedule and realized I had the same class but later in the day. I rushed to Madame's desk to ask her if I could switch, when she announced she only had two openings left and there were two people ahead of me in line. The room was really huge with large wooden desks, new and un-graffitied. (Amy and me in French class)

Also last night:
This is my Dad's dream, but it is funny and about me so I'm including it here anyway. He dreamt that I left some gym clothes at Stanford where they had become infested with cockroach eggs. When I brought them home, the cockroached grew and infected my entire wardrobe. My mom insisted that the only way to handle it was to burn all the clothes. My dad refused, saying it would be too expensive and I refused because I liked my clothes too much. (Most are old and irreplaceable.) My mom tried to compromise by boiling my clothes, but it wasn't very successful.

Friday night:
I dreamt that I went to the grocery store and tried to buy a couple of things but couldn't find what I was looking for and then had some trouble at checkout. It was highly stressful.

Thursday night:
I dreamt that I went to babysit the Powers kids at 10AM as instructed but the parents did not return until after midnight. I was upset that they had left me there all day without warning and did not intend to babysit for them again. However, they seemed so pleased with my "work" that they wanted to hire me on a daily basis. I really didn't want to, but she offered me $1000 a week and I certainly couldn't turn that down. I was wary about actually going to babysit the next day. I don't if "luckily" is the right word, but I was not offered a full time gig.

Disney Dreams (but I don't think this is what they meant)

Last night I dreamt that I went to Disneyworld to begin my internship and attended various meetings where, much to my surprise, I met up with Anthony and Bryan. True to form, Bryan had just showed up and hadn't gone through any of the proper paperwork or applications but was nevertheless sure to be admitted regardless. Stephen Trembley was also there in the capacity of assistant to whoever was in charge of us interns. After the formalities, we started to climb up a tree house sort of path to a restaurant where we could relax and socialize. Behind me Elbogen, Dinger and Stephen Tye (still practically inseparable) were goofing off and only vaguely recognized me. I said how strange it was that some many former Cal High students were there and they didn't fully get what I was saying. In front of me, a blond skinny girl introduced herself to me as Tiffany and I told her my name. had climbed up some steps like runs of a ladder, turned around, fell off and landed on her head in front of me. I kind of freaked out, but as everyone around me was even more freaked out, I picked her up and moved her so she could lie flat on her back and told the guys to call 911. I tried to revive her and ask her questions. She told me her name and mine. Then down a few levels I heard two guys talking and one described what she had in very medical like terms that sounded super bad but I was trying to be positive for Tiffany.

A couple of days ago I had a dream that I showed up for work at Disneyworld and they handed me my costume and it was this big cotton frontier dress and I was kind of unhappy as I didn't want the job that came with that costume.

No Dreams Are Good Dreams

Camp Greenlake will no longer be a dry wasteland full of holes. The snow is melting and Father Christmas' sleigh bells are ringing in my ear. The dream-drought is over!

Actually it was about a week ago but I've been too busy/lazy to update.

I dreamt that I went home to find my brothers and David and Jonathan doing something idiotic. I left and returned later to find them not thwarted by my mother, but instead they were repelling off the side of my house. My mother and one of her friends with them! Also, they had turned my house into a large Gothic cathedral with stained glass. Both of those things made me really angry in the dream.

I had a few other dreams but I can't remember them now. I'll have to add more later.

The Gestalt Approach to Dream Work

I've been having a recurring scene that occurs within a variety of contexts of dreams in which I'm trying to dice a mango, but I mangle it. Perls would say that I am the mango, and that I feel I'm being torn apart and left a crushed and devastated vestige of my former self. Also, he would say I am the knife and that ultimately, I am doing this to myself. Isn't it great, the things you learn in college?
